 | Ernie Kowal and Peter Beyeler are our Enthusiasts of the Year for 2010. Ernie is a founding memeber of VIR. He is very involved in autocross and the Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children and Families European and Classic Car Picnic and all other club activities. Ernie is the sole proprietor of Shiney Car Products and volunteers his time offering free car detailing clinics to members. He is indeed a worthy recipient of our "Enthusiast of the Year" award for 2010.
Peter and Judy moved to BC two years ago from cold and snowy Calgary, Peter retiring after over 25 years as a Porsche mechanic at Calgary's most prominent dealership and Judy after many years as a teacher. Peter has set up shop in their idyllic location in Qualicum with the ability and talent to do just about any kind of servicing on Porshces, some retirement. Peter drives a 1985 911 Targa, purple in color, with more paint chips than all other cars in the region combined and he is proud of it. Peter is a welcome member to our fun club and has done much to add to the fellowship we all enjoy so much.

Insurance Requirements for anyone organizing a Regional event
You need to get insurance for every moving car event organized by the Region. Please forward to me the date, time, start and finish locations. Also get the correct names of any persons or company whose property may be involved in the event. If it's a tour, breakfast run, evening drive, autocross, rally or what ever, then provide me a brief description of where the event starts, where it's going and where it finishes.
There is a insurance requirement for all participants to sign a waiver prior to starting the event. Pads of waiver forms are available from the insurance chair. After the event is over the waiver forms must be returned to the insurance chair because they have to be kept for two years in case there is a late claim we don't know about.
The sooner you get the information regarding your event to the insurance chair the better. The policy for the event will be ordered and you will be provided with a copy of the policy. Check with any property owners if they need a copy of the insurance and one will be sent to them. For more information contact Carolyn Hoare

Several members and friends of VIR meet for coffee early on Sunday mornings. We started at Starbuck's but moved to Francelli's Coffee 4444 West Saanich Road, Victoria, in the Royal Oak Shopping Centre, due to our increasing numbers! This is a good time to make new friends and show off our cars. Come and join us!
